Remnants of Hope
Atlanta, Ga.
Atlanta-based Remnants of Hope is a trio of brothers creating the kind of live act they felt hadnt been seen in years. Up & comers in their home town, the boys in the band took their influences from Motionless in White and Black Veil Brides and came up with something all their own. That sound is fast winning them fans and is all over their debut EP Hopes Not Dead, the first single Afterbite, and its accompanying music video.
The three began playing music together at a young age. It was only natural coming from a household where mom offered them a classical music influence, while dad infused them with a less-then-mainstream rock influence. So, Zander sang, Paul played bass, and Nyk picked up the guitar, recording with their father as a cover band until October 2013. By then, they had reached a point where they no longer felt other peoples' songs could speak for them. Being home-schooled, Nyk received a GED, completing his education at 17 that December. Afterwards he studied musical composition, learning how to write songs. Taking a liking to the consistency of their fathers Mpc1000 (Drum Machine) they used it to make music, drawing on the industrial sounds that it provided. In February 2014, after lots of hard work, the three had formed Remnants of Hope.
They didnt waste any time either; they played their first show with metal-core acts Outline In Color and Kingdom of Giants the next month. Quickly moving up in their scene, they started opening for L.A.-based rock bands like Farewell, My Love and Stitched up Heart. By the time they'd been performing live for a year, they opened for the Rockabilly Goth band Wednesday 13.
Their goal is to bring back the live experience of going to see a show you'd remember for the rest of the week. The foundation of those shows is the rock music that can be found at the heart of Hopes Not Dead. The five-song EP offers up the kind of pulsating, driving hard rock that makes for the biggest, baddest live bands.
